A downloadable game for Windows

A short game made for a Game Jam (which I unfortunately missed the submission period). As a rule for the Jam, it only uses default assets from RPG Maker Engine.

History:

You are Iaru, the chosen ninja!  If a sage old men predicts that you'll be the best ninja in the world , just accept it, you will be! Help Iaru complete it's destiny and save the princ- I mean, the Kunoichi which was captured!

Even though this game didn't make it into the jam, I'll rate it anyway!

I liked that the pause menu displays your objective, in case you forget. Also, the checkpoint system was a smart touch, with the exception of the final boss. The puzzles were also decent, and hints are always displayed in some way, so the player never won't know what needs to be done. Some of the puzzles were harder than I thought was necessary due to the hero dashing. That said, they were not unsolvable, so that's good!

This game uses an ABS. While it's definitely more responsive than the other ABS's in the jam, I feel like the battles were too hard, even on the "Normal" difficulty level. I did manage to get all the way to the end boss, but then I hit a wall. The boss regenerates her health and moves very fast. While there probably is a way to defeat her, the strategy is not obvious (even with the hint of using kunai). To make matters worse, a checkpoint triggers at the beginning of the battle, so if you didn't save before the fight, you'll have to replay the whole game again if you want to change your skills (or, if you're lucky, you equipped smoke bombs before)! The explosion skill doesn't seem to work right, either; I click on my target, but the effect happens below the target, doing no damage.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this game overall; the end boss just needs some tweaking.

Hi KV_Kingdom

It makes me happy that someone got to the final boss, I believe I should open the menu for the player between the checkpoint and the final fight, when I created that checkpoint I was afraid of making the player re-watch the cutscene everytime he loses the fight.

You can outrun the final boss (when it's not accelerated of course) and make it lose sight of you so you'll be able to open the menu and change your skills, you can do that with any skill of the Special1 type.

The ABS system I used is called Alpha ABS (made by Pheonix KageDesu), and that's the same plugin that Tea used on her game (it's actually a newer version of it).

I think I tested it so many times that I forgot how difficult the combat may be, I'll take a look at that, specially on the final boss, I wanted her to hit hard but not that hard. The Explosion's animation is really out of place, but the damage should still be applied to the enemies, I'll check that too.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you very much for taking time to play and rate it :)
